1776 IN CULPEPER

Travel back in time to see what life was like in 1776! The Museum of Culpeper History and the Out of Time Teachers invite you to experience a Colonial-era tavern in the Burgandine house, built circa 1749. See what life on the road may have been like for the patriots who fought for America’s independence during the Revolutionary War.

Noon PATRIOTIC PROGRAM:  READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, will present a program that includes the reading of the Declaration of Independence on the courthouse lawn. The Blue Ridge Chorale will sing patriotic songs and a fife and drum corps will be on hand.
4 pm INDEPENDENCE DAY - MAIN STREET PARADE
This hometown parade is open to anyone who wants to participate. The typical hometown Main Street parade was once the center of most annual community events and local gatherings. Culpeper's 4th of July Celebration brings that memory back to life. Continue the tradition and be a part of the 16th Annual Main Street Parade. If you are interested in sponsoring the Parade, please contact the 4th of July Committee.
