SATURDAY

July 4, 2015!

8am

FREEDOM 5-K RACE -

For the third year the race will begin at the Town Municipal Building, 400 S. Main St. and wind through the west side of Town, loopYowell Meadow Park and return to the Town Municipal Building to finish. The 2015 race is sponsored by the UVA Culpeper Hospital.   

9am - 3pm YOUTH SOCCER
All tournaments take place in Yowell Meadow Park. Organized by Tim Kearney of RE/MAX Crossroads.  Go to the youth sports page for more information!
10am  - 3pm

CULPEPER RENAISSANCE, INC. - 4th OF JULY CAR and BIKE SHOW
A full day show at The Depot and Davis Street in Downtown Culpeper. Judging begins at 10am, awards are presented at 2.30pm. The show is open and free to all.  New this year is the Vintage and Custom Bicycle Show!

MUSEUM OF CULPEPER HISTORY

The NEW LOCATION of the Museum will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. (The museum moved to the Depot at 113 S. Commerce Street.)  Come see their new home and check out the displays!

Noon PATRIOTIC PROGRAM:  READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, will present a program that includes the reading of the Declaration of Independence on the courthouse lawn and a fife and drum corps will be on hand. The Blue Ridge Chorale will astound us with patriotic songs!  The 2015 program is sponsored by German Culver, CPA.

STATE THEATRE OPEN HOUSE

4 pm INDEPENDENCE DAY - MAIN STREET PARADE
This hometown parade is open to anyone who wants to participate. The typical hometown Main Street parade was once the center of most annual community events and local gatherings. Culpeper's 4th of July Celebration brings that memory back to life. Continue the tradition and be a part of the Annual Main Street Parade. Go to the parade page for registration info!   The 2015 parade is sponsored by Ardent Mills.  
5:30 pm DINNER, MOONBOUNCES, HAYRIDES, AND ENTERTAINMENT
Yowell Meadow Park is the place to for food, music and entertainment. Enjoy all kinds of delicious food and treats, then spend some time visiting the art & craft vendors in the parking lot area. There will be moonbounces (Spacewalk), and take a hayride pulled by antique John Deere tractors (provided by Art Fellows and his family). Throw a blanket down, or pull up a chair and listen to Hump Day Entertainment's presentation of the winners of "Culpeper Has Talent" as the entertainment for the night.  The moonbounces are sponsored by Spacewalk, the hayrides by Art Fellows and the entertainment by Culpeper Mid Day Lions

FIREWORKS
The Grand Finale of a fun-filled day can only be FIREWORKS! This year the fireworks can be viewed from Colonel Jamesons Boulevard as well as other areas in Town.  The Town will provide trolleys that will run continuously from the E. Spencer Street Parking Lot and the W. Locust Street Parking Lot from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and will take riders and drop them off at the Old Rixeyville Road section of Colonel Jamesons Boulevard.  Come bring your chairs and blankets and watch a great fireworks display.  After the fireworks are over, trolleys will again take riders back to either parking lot until 10:30 p.m.  Click here for the map.  The fireworks are sponsored by the Town of Culpeper and Culpeper County!
For safety reasons, dogs will not be allowed in the park during all 4th of July events.
