| FREEDOM 5K RACE | ||||||||||||||||||||

------------------------------------------------------------------------ To view the 5K 2007 final results select from: - view all runners ordered by time - view all male runners ordered by time/age-group - view all female runners ordered by time/age-group ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get ready for the 8th Annual Freedom 5K Race on Friday, July 4, 2008 in downtown Culpeper. The start is at 8 a.m. sharp at Gold's Gym, 201 Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper. Click here for a map of the race route (route is subject to change)! The race will start in front of Gold's Gym. The runners cross Rte 29 in between Wachovia bank/Luigi's restaurant and continue up Blue Ridge Avenue. The route enters Yowell Meadow Park and bears to the right toward the skate board park, circles the park, and leaves at the Parking lot. Runners return to Blue Ridge Avenue (there is a short steep hill!) heading back to Gold's Gym. Crossing Rte 29, the runners take a slight left and enter the parking lot near the Culpeper County Library and finish directly in front of Gold's Gym. Thanks to the wonderful weather last year, over 200 runners showed up at the start. The 2007 winner, 19-year-old Devin Cornwall, finished in 15 minutes and 51 seconds ... just to give you a goal! However, winning should not be the only reason for racing in this 5K event. The fellowship and the festive atmosphere of the day alone make the effort worthwhile! Never participated in a 5K before? All runners will receive a finishers medal. Running prizes will be awarded to the top
